Donald Trump’s criminal trial, where he is accused of falsifying business records to hide a series of payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels, began in New York on Monday. The case centers on a hush-money payment paid to adult film star Stephanie Clifford, known professionally as Stormy Daniels.

Alvin Bragg, the District Attorney for Manhattan, brought the case forward, and both Ms. Daniels and Michael Cohen, who was accused of making the payment, are expected to testify. The payments were allegedly meant to buy her silence on their affair and avoid the matter from affecting the 2016 presidential elections, where the tycoon was the Republican candidate.

Did Donald Trump really fall asleep in court?

Former president Donald Trump was present in court and took a little cat nap during the proceedings... but how long was he able to sleep? According to The Daily Beast, witnesses just saw the former president doze off for a few minutes during the morning portion of the trial before jury selection began after lunch.

The situation was quite striking for fans of Presidnet Biden, whom Donald Trump refers to as ‘Sleepy Joe,’ with the ‘Sleepy’ monicker being easily applied to him instead. Additionally, Maggie Haberman of the New York Times, who has been on the Trump beat for many years, was present in the courtroom and validated reports that the 77-year-old GOP frontrunner was dozing off now and again.
