According to reports, the average monthly pay for a Cashier in the United States is $2,075 a month. As of Oct 15, 2022, the majority of Cashier salaries currently range between $1,666 (25th percentile) to $2,375 (75th percentile) across the US.

Hourly rate can vary widely depending on several factors, including education, certifications, additional skills, and the number of years spent in the respective profession. Gender and location can also play a role in the amount paid.

What is the average salary of a cashier?

While the average hourly wage is $14, the range typically falls between $12 and $16. The average yearly salary, as shown by several different reports like salary explorer and ziprecruiter, is $34,200. A low cashier salary would be in the $17,800 range, while a high one would reach up to $54,400.

Experience, meanwhile, is the most important factor in determining a cashier’s salary. Naturally the more years of experience the higher your wage.

Low, average, high cashier salary

A Cashier with less than two years of experience makes approximately 20,200 USD a year, which is considered on the lower salary spectrum.

On the other hand, someone with two to five years of experience is expected to earn 27,100 USD per year, which is above average.

Five to ten years of experience then could land a salary of 35,300 USD per year, 30% more than the “average one.”
