According to the most recent data from the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics report of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the average annual salary of a construction worker in the United States is $46,350, while the average hourly wage is $22.29.

As for construction trades helpers, they have an average annual salary of $40,790 and an average hourly salary of $19.61.

According to the BLS Occupational Employment and Wages report, the average annual wage of a construction worker is about $56,210, while the Median hourly wage is $27.03 in California, exceeding the federal average.

Construction trades helpers have a median annual wage of $44,910 and an average hourly wage of $21.59 in California, also above the national average.

According to specialized website Salary.com, the average annual salary for a construction worker in California is $39,752 as of February 2024, but the range generally falls between $34,282 and $45,665.

Meanwhile, as of March 2024, the median hourly wage for a construction worker in California was $22.36 per hour, according to ZipRecruiter. The website records salaries as high as $36.06 per hour and as low as $12.10.
