How much money does a nurse make in California? This is the hourly wage

California is the state with the highest level of employment and salaries for registered nurses. Find out how much money these health workers earn per hour.

Nurses are a key element in the health sector, as they provide the necessary care to help patients with daily tasks. As the profession belongs to the field of health care, it is also one of the jobs with a growing demand.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage report, California is the state with the highest level of employment for registered nurses, as well as the highest salary for these workers in the country.

What is the job of a nurse?

The duties of a registered nurse include assessing a patient’s health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. They also administer care to sick, injured, convalescent, and disabled patients.

A nurse may also advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. A license or registration is required for this job.

According to the BLS Occupational Employment and Wages report, the average annual salary for a registered nurse in California is $133,340, while the average hourly wage is $64.10.

This is much higher than nationwide numbers, as shown by the same report, where the average annual salary for a nurse is $89,010, while the average hourly wage is $42.80.

According to BLS data, the national median salary for registered nurses is $39.05 per hour and $81,220 per year. The median wage is the 50th percentile wage estimate: 50% of workers earn less than the median and 50% of workers earn more than the median.

The lowest 10% of nurses earn about $29.45 per hour or $61,250 per year. On the other hand, the top 10% earn $62.21 per hour or $129,400 per year.
