Four programs to reduce utility bills
The rebate offered by the government will cover more than 80% of the price of small window air conditioners, some of which are offered for as little as $5 after rebate. The Department of Water and Power is also offering a level bill payment program so people can turn on their air conditioners without fear of an increase in their bill.
Any resident can call (800) 342-5397 to ask if they are eligible for this program. Qualified customers can receive up to two rebates for the purchase of air conditioners between May 11 and September 30. Customers must request a refund before November 15.
