How to get free chicken nuggets at Wendy’s for the rest of 2023: Here’s the trick
Interested in getting free chicken nuggets from Wendy’s for the rest of the year? What you need to do to get the freebie
Last week, the fast food giant Wendy’s announced that through the rest of 2023, a free 6-piece chicken nugget will be provided with any purchase each Wednesday.
How can you claim the deal?
To claim the deal, one will need to download the Wendy’s app where the freebie will be able to be claimed. “Simply redeem the Wendy’s Wednesday offer in-app or online, or scan the digital Wendy’s Rewards offer code in restaurant,” instructs the company in a statement.
Why is Wendy’s offering this sort of deal?
Like many other fast food chains, the offer is likely an effort to push consumers toward their application.
Users can load money into the app, which the company can use, even if it is not spent, because once loaded towards their balance, the money effectively becomes Wendy’s. “You don’t need cash when you have the Wendy’s app. Once downloaded, you can pre-load funds into your account or pre-select a credit card for ongoing or one-time use,” said the company. For a company like Wendy’s, this setup is great for their revenue, particularly in cases where the money is never spent.
Starbucks was among the first companies to adopt this model, which has recently faced criticism from some quarters. Critics view this approach as a means for companies to function like a bank while avoiding the scrutiny that banks are subjected to. Cold Fusion, a YouTube channel, has provided an in-depth analysis of how Starbucks devised a reward system to encourage customers to upload money to the app, which can then be invested by the company in any way they choose.
Based on the amount of money deposited by Starbucks Rewards members, the company would rank within the top two percent of US banks, highlighting the enormous scale of the investment program. Wendy’s, along with many other companies, is taking cues from Starbucks by offering freebies and promotions to attract more users to their mobile apps. The goal is to persuade users to add funds from their debit or credit card into their rewards account.
