Fans of In-N-Out Burger who don’t have a location nearby may be in luck as the popular burger chain has announced plans for new restaurants further afield.

In-N-Out Burger recently celebrated its 75th anniversary having been founded in October 1948 in Baldwin Park, California as the first “drive-thru” burger stand in the Golden State. The burger chain has built its popularity by following the simple business philosophy of Harry Snyder, who started the company along with his wife Esther: “Give Customers the freshest, highest quality foods and provide them with friendly service in a sparkling-clean environment.”

There are now over 380 locations, but those are primarily located on the West Coast and in the Southwest as all the company’s locations are within no more than a single-day’s drive of its in-house patty-making facilities. This allows In-N-Out to ensure the freshness of ingredients when they arrive at each restaurant.

However, that also limits its ability to spread to other regions. That is, until now.

What are the states where the burger chain is opening new locations?

The burger chain has a dedicated fanbase, with people going on long-distance trips just to partake of the made-to-order hamburgers and French fries made fresh every day. However, there is good news as In-N-Out Burger is in the process of expanding further afield.

Earlier this year, the company announced plans to open locations in Tennessee. The first restaurants will open in and around Nashville in 2026 and will be the first locations east of Texas.

In-N-Out Burger will also open its first location in New Mexico with a restaurant coming to Albuquerque in 2027.

In the meantime, there will be three new locations opening soon in California, two in Texas and one in Idaho.
