Is it a ‘man’s man’s world’ for ChatGPT?
ChatGPT remains the most popular AI tool in the world with OpenAI’s product boasting over a 60% share of the industry in a recent poll.
Artificial Intelligence tools were back in the news recently after China’s DeepSeek launched globally and became almost an overnight success.
The company is owned and funded by Chinese hedge fund High-Flyer and was established in 2023 by Liang Wenfeng, who is currently the company CEO.
The launch and global success has delighted the Hangzhou based company but created apprehension in the United States. The Chinese company’s apparent ability to match OpenAI’s (owners of ChatGPT) capabilities at a much lower cost has posed questions for major corporations developing AI software such as Nvidia and Microsoft.
Challenge for ChatGPT
ChatGPT, however is still very much the ‘go to’ AI tool for many around the world but a recent study has revealed that of it’s mobile users, almost 85% are male.
The ChatGPT app has been downloaded over 350 million times from both Google and Apple App stores with over 50% of the app’s mobile users are under the age of 25.
