Is X (formerly Twitter) down? Users report outages
The Elon Musk-owned social-media platform appears to be suffering technical issues.
The social-media platform X appears to be experiencing technical problems today, Friday Jan. 16.
Outage reports flood in
As of 10:30 a.m. ET, the website Downdetector was showing a major spike in recent reports of X outages.
A similar hike in problem reports was also noted by the site Down For Everyone or Just Me.
“Something went wrong”
When AS USA tried to access X, formerly known as Twitter, we got a variety of error messages. These ranged from “connection timed out”, to “something went wrong” and “this page isn’t working”.
