Ivana Trump, mother to Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric passed away and the messages of love and support have been flowing in. There is one notable exception, her eldest Donald Trump Jr.

This has surprised many who are close to the family.

Donald Trump Sr., was one of the first to post on social media. He posted on his platform Truth, to “inform” the public of her passing. In his post he said she was an “amazing woman,” who led “a great and inspirational life.”

The couple was married in 1977 and divorced fifteen years later.

Both have spoken publicly about the close relationship they maintained after the separation. However, there have, at times, been controversy surrounding claims of domestic and sexual abuse that were later retracted by Ivana.

Ivanka Trump

Ivanka Trump, Ivana’s only daughter, sent a very heartfelt message, describing her mother as “passionate and wickedly funny.” When Ivanka decided to marry Jared Kushner, Invana had her own opinions. Writing in her memoire she said about their relationship:I’m not convinced about some of the Orthodox customs, but if Ivanka was willing to give up lobster and bacon, she must really love him.”

Eric Trump

Eric Trump, Ivana’s youngest son took to Instagram to honor his mother, saying his mother was “a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend.

“She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination,” said Eric.

In her book Raising Trump, Ivana recounted a story from Eric’s youth were he told his mother “I don’t want to go to Aspen. I don’t want to ski.” She replied, “‘You will go to Aspen, and you will ski.’ Discussion over.” The story has become a bit more relevant after Eric chose a picture of he and his mother on the slopes in his post celebrating her life.
