Los Angeles County, California, continues to send $1,000 monthly payments through the Breathe Program, a guaranteed income program for low-income residents.

The program first opened applications on March 31, 2022 and closed on April 13 of that same year. Payments began to be sent out in June of last year. Since then, Breathe Program recipients have been receiving a monthly payment of $1,000 and will continue to receive it for several years.

These beneficiaries were randomly selected last year after applying for the program. As for this month’s payment, the money will be sent beginning July 15. Payments are deposited each month to debit cards.

If you applied, you must wait for the administrators to contact you if you are chosen. Program administrators will use the contact information you provided in your application.

According to the Breathe program website, 200 participants will be randomly selected by the research team at the University of Pennsylvania’s Guaranteed Income Research Center as a blind drawing. The date and time of the application will not impact the selection process, as long as they it was submitted within the open enrollment period.

Since this is also an independent research study on guaranteed income programs, applicants will be asked a series of questions. These questions are solely for the purpose of compiling a database for the study and will also have no impact on the selection process.

Those people who were not selected will also receive an email. For more details about financial support and upcoming projects, visit the Web portal of the Breathe Program.
