Justin Bieber ends friendship with Kanye West after attack on Hailey Bieber
Justin Bieber has reportedly ended his friendship with Kanye West after the rapper attacked his wife, Hailey Bieber. Here are the details.
In recent days, Kanye West has become a trend again after being seen wearing a t-shirt with the phrase ‘White Lives Matter’, making other statements against celebrities, including their ex-wife Kim Kardashian, and doing an interview on the Tucker Carlson show.
One of the people attacked by Ye was Hailey Bieber, so her husband, Justin Bieber, decided to cut ties with the rapper.
Justin Bieber ends friendship with Kanye West after the attack on Hailey Bieber
All this drama started after Hailey Bieber came to the defense of Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, who criticized him after he wore the controversial ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirt at Paris Fashion Week.
After the comments, Karefa-Johnson received widespread criticism from Ye’s fans.
To support Karefa-Johnson, Bieber posted an Instagram story saying, “My respect for you runs deep my friend!” going on to say that “to know you is to adore you and to work with you is an honor.”
Kanye was very upset, and rather than addressing the matter with Hailey directly, he posted on social media a message for Justin: “Wait am I canceled again? Justin, please let me know.” Ye also began to dredge up past messages with Bieber, ending the rant by stating, “Justin, come get your girl before I get mad.”
Sources close to the couple say that this time Kanye went “too far” and that Justin felt that it was time to cut off the rapper because of how the comments impacted his wife.
Kanye stops by Tucker Carlson
The drama continued after the rapper sat down with an interview with right-wing political commentator Tucker Carlson. In much of the interview, Ye speaks poorly of many people in the fashion industry, including the head of Vogue, Anna Wintour.
In defense of his choice of apparel, he said, “Why I wrote White Lives Matter on a shirt is because they do.” This, however, frustrated those who support the Black Lives Matter movement because the message of BLM is not that white lives do not matter, just that the racism and violence faced by Black people needs more attention.
During the interview, he accused Karefa-Johnson of being “practically made in a laboratory.”
He also made comments about Anna Wintour, saying that she okayed the comments made by “her dolls,” which include Gigi Hadid and Hailey Bieber.
“I consider Anna two be an industry friend,” Ye said in the interview, then adding that he felt betrayed by her because she allowed “her dolls” to speak out against him.
This is not the first time Anna and Ye have gotten into beef, and it is unlikely to be the last, with West focusing more of his career on his fashion line.
