Kim Kardashian cries when talking about co-parenting with Kanye West: "It's fucking hard"
Kim Kardashian, who filed for divorce from Ye in February 2021, shares her four children with the rapper, North, 9, Saint, 7, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3. The separation has been complicated, especially recently, with Kardashian confirming that “Co-parenting is hard [...], really fucking hard,”
Kim explained that she makes a concerted effort to protect her children from their father’s controversial behavior, including all the anti-Semistism he has been spewing lately.
In speaking about her own dad, Kim said, “I had the best father, and the greatest experience and that’s all I want for my kids.”
Since her children are so young, she says she doesn’t expect them to “know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world,” and that she doesn’t want to bring that “energy to them.”
“That’s really heavy grown-up s— that they’re not ready to deal with,” Kardashian added.
“The Kardashians” star said she will be “very prepared” when her children finally ask questions about their father’s statements. “One day my kids will thank me for sitting here and not bashing their dad when I could,” she said. “They’ll thank me and I’ll privately answer anything that they want to know. It’s not my place anymore to jump in,” she told the presenter Angie Martínez.
However, Kim confessed that not talking about West's statements and controversies has become increasingly difficult. “I definitely protected him and will continue to do so in the eyes of my children. At home, my children don't know anything about what's going on in the outside world… I'm hanging by a thread,” she acknowledged.
In March, Kim was declared legally single and their divorce proceedings were finalized on November 29. Kim and Ye currently have “equal access” custody of their four children, according to court documents obtained by Page Six, while West must pay Kardashian $200,000 a month in child support.
