Liam Payne autopsy reveals cause of death: Here's what preliminary report says

Liam Payne’s preliminary autopsy report confirms the singer died from his fall from the hotel balcony, which caused ‘multiple trauma and hemorrhage.’

The music world is in mourning following the unexpected death of Liam Payne. The 31-year-old singer died after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur hotel, while he was on a trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Authorities have now released the preliminary autopsy report.

According to the forensic medical team of the Supreme Court of Justice of Argentina, Payne died immediately from the impact of the fall, which caused him “multiple trauma and internal and external bleeding.”

The singer fell from the balcony of his room at the Hotel Casa Sur Palermo, located at Costa Rica Street #6032 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The artist’s tragic death was reported around 5:40 p.m. ET by various local media outlets. The news was confirmed by the Emergency Medical Care System or SAME. According to initial reports, authorities from the 14B Police Station responded to the hotel facilities after receiving an emergency call alerting them about an “aggressive man” who allegedly may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found a man lying in an internal courtyard with a head injury. Later, it was confirmed that it was the former member of One Direction. The musician suffered injuries that were “incompatible with life,” making it impossible to revive him.

“At 17:04, through 911, the integrated public security system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the Casa Sur hotel. At 17:11, a SAME local team arrived and confirmed the man’s death... Regrettably, he had injuries incompatible with life as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death. There was no possibility of resuscitation,” said the head of SAME, Alberto Crescenti.

Hours later, Pablo Policicchio, communications director of the Ministry of Security of Buenos Aires, reported that Payne “had jumped from the balcony of his room.”

The singer had traveled to Argentina to attend a concert by Niall Horan, also a former member of One Direction.
