The tragic news of the death of Liam Payne, best known as one of the five members of the boyband One Direction, is making its way around the world. Payne had fans from across the globe, and his death comes as a shock to many who knew him personally and felt they did through his music.

Together with the other four members of One Direction, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, he released five studio albums:

  • Up All Night (2011)
  • Take Me Home (2012)
  • Midnight Memories (2013)
  • Four (2014)
  • Made in the A.M. (2015)

As a part of One Direction he helped the band win more than 170 awards, including seven American Music Awards and six Billboard Awards.

Payne’s career as a solo artist

As a solo artist, Payne released one album in 2019 titled, LP1 standing for Liam Payne 1, playing on the idea of an LP as an album with ten to twelve songs. The album did not receive many favorable reviews, with many noting that Payne’s talent was undeniable but that the songs failed to tell a cohesive or compelling story.

However, he did release nearly a dozen singles, many of which were collaborations with other artists, including “Strip that Down,” feating Quavo of Migos, “For You” featuring Rita Ora, and “Familiar” with J Balvin.
