List of Rite Aid branches closing soon: locations
Rite Aid has announced it will soon be closing branches in certain parts of the country. Here are the exact locations of the stores that will be shuttered.
In October of last year, drug store chain Rite Aid declared bankruptcy. As a result, the company has closed several branches in some states of the country and, according to a recent announcement, more are scheduled to cease operations.
The company filed for bankruptcy after reporting $750 million in losses and $24 billion in revenue during the last fiscal year.
Rite Aid has closed hundreds of stores since filing for bankruptcy, and it has identified a few more that are set to be shut down. This is part of the company’s efforts to recover from its bankrupt status after the approval of its restructuring plan.

The company presented a restructuring plan, which was approved by a judge at the end of last year, allowing the pharmacy chain to cut $2 billion in debt and hand over control of the company to a group of its lenders, according to a report by Reuters.
Under the restructuring plan, Rite Aid will provide $47.5 million to junior creditors, including individuals and local governments that have sued the company for allegedly contributing to the opioid epidemic in the United States.
