The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has become a beloved annual tradition, featuring elaborate floats, marching bands, giant balloons, and performances. The annual event has become one of the most widely watched parades in the United States.
The parade starts at West 77th Street & Central Park West on Manhattan’s Upper West Side at 8:30 a.m. ET. and ends in front of Macy’s Herald Square at midday although not all sections of the route will be open for public viewing.
To help you avoid traffic jams and road blocks as the 98th annual parade snakes through the city along the traditional 2.5 mile route, here is a list of street closures around New York.
Some roads will already be closed on Wednesday due to preparations for the parade, such as getting the balloons ready.

TODAY‘s Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker will be hosting this year’s parade while there will be performances by Jennifer Hudson, Kylie Minogue and Billy Porter.
