Mexico 2024 elections: which are the locations in the USA and Canada for voting from abroad?

Mexicans who live outside of Mexico will be able to vote at 23 consular offices located in the USA, Canada and Europe with in-person voting.

Mexican people who live outside of Mexico will be able to participate in the Electoral Process 2024, which will be held today, June 2. The INE detailed that in these elections the postal, electronic and in-person methods will be available. For those planning to vote in person from abroad, below we’ll explain where the official headquarters in USA, Canada and Spain to cast your vote in person from abroad will be.

Methods of voting abroad for 2024 Elections

The National Electoral Institute (INE) reported that 258,461 people will be able to vote from abroad, of this total, 223,961 Mexican men and women requested their registration in the Nominal List of Electorates Abroad through the following methods:

  • Electronic: 151,989
  • Postal: 56,249
  • In-person: 15,723
  • Vote without registration at consular offices: 1,500

Historic! In-person voting from abroad for 2024

The INE confirmed that for the first time in a federal election in Mexico the “in-person vote from abroad” will be carried out, an exercise scheduled for June 2, which It will be available at 23 consular offices. According to the Foreign Relations (SER), the locations are as follows:

  • United States: Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, New Brunswick, New York, Oklahoma, Orlando, Phoenix, Raleigh, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Ana, Seattle and Washington D.C.
  • Canada: Montreal.
  • Europe: Paris and Madrid.

What is the schedule for in-person voting from abroad?

Take note! Mexicans who are living abroad will be able to go to one of the 23 consular offices of Mexico on June 2; The right to vote will be carried out in the Voting Receiving Modules from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CDMX time).

If I have not registered to vote, can I exercise my right abroad?

The answer is YES. The INE thought of everything! Mexicans who have not registered for any of the methods of voting from abroad, will have the option of going to one of the Voting Receiving Modules located at the consular offices to request to cast their vote, but they will have to arrive very early to get one of the 1,500 ballots that will be available.
