Midterm 2022: How many senators are there per state and how many members of the House?
Voters will be casting their ballot in the midterm elections for all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and about a third of the 100-member Senate.
The midterm elections are just days away, and citizens have been exercising their right to vote for members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, among others.

The Senate and House comprise the legislative branch of the national government that is tasked with making laws. There are 435 seats in the lower chamber of Congress that are at stake on Tuesday, Nov. 8, while 35 Senate seats- a third of the 100-member body- will be up for grabs.

Each state has two Senators representing them in the upper chamber of Congress, making up the total of 100. Senators represent the whole state.
In the House of Representatives, the number of officials is proportionate to the state’s population. Each House member represents a part of their state known as a Congressional District, which covers around 700,000 people.
