More Walmart store closures before 2025: these will be the cities and states affected
Walmart will be closing nearly a dozen stores before the year is out. The most affected state will be California where five locations will shutter for good.

American retailers have been facing more financial hardship in 2024 as inflation-weary shoppers have reduced spending and are seeking out sales and deals. This has led to a spike in companies filing for bankruptcy protection, nearly twice as many this year as in 2023, and over 7,100 store closures, a 69% increase over last year.
The trend has hit retail giant Walmart as well. While Walmart reported strong revenue growth and operating income growing faster in its third quarter earnings report, some locations are underperforming. Nearly a dozen will be closed before the year is out.
