Costco, one of the largest membership chains in the country, plans to open more stores in the United States in 2024. States that will see new stores open include Arkansas, California, Florida, and Michigan. According to the company’s website, a new Business Center will open in Southfield, Michigan, in January, with two additional stores, one in Anchorage, Alaska (Business Center) and another in Daytona, Florida, opening in February. In March, a new store is set to open in Natomas, California, and finally, in April, a new branch will open in Loomis, California.

Will Costco Membership Prices Increase in 2024?

Costco currently offers three types of memberships: the Gold Star Membership, priced at $60 per year; the Business Membership, also $60 per year, which is exclusively designed for business owners to purchase products for commercial, personal, and resale use, and the Executive Membership, which costs $120 per year.

The Executive Membership provides greater savings and a 2 percent annual reward on eligible purchases. To obtain it, you first need to have a Gold Star Membership and then upgrade your account.

It is noteworthy that these are the current prices, which may increase in 2024, after seven years without an increase. However, the company has not yet confirmed a specific date for the potential price increase.

Rumors that the cost of a Costco membership would increase have been circulating for years. However, no increases have been announced thus far. The company has remained committed to bringing members low prices as inflation rattles markets. If increases are implemented, they would likely raise the price by $5 for all memberships.
