After two years of events canceled or with restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, in 2022 the New Year’s celebrations finally return to “normal”, since the restrictions on travel, transportation, gatherings, etc., have decreased considerably.

Although you no longer have to present your vaccination card to enter any place and face coverings are no longer required indoors or on public transportation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to urge Americans and tourists to get vaccinated and continue to follow their guidelines on isolation and precautions for people with covid-19.
On the other hand, although the CDC order requiring masks on public transportation and in transportation centers is no longer in effect, health authorities continue to recommend that people use mask indoors on public transportation at this time.
The use of face masks is also recommended as covid, flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are fueling a national wave of respiratory illnesses.
Travel restrictions
On the other hand, there are no travel restrictions within the United States and its territories, such as Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands. In addition, US citizens and lawful permanent residents traveling abroad will not need a return-entry covid-19 test or show proof of a coronavirus vaccine to re-enter the country.
