Nowhere to hide: 79% of Americans believe the government should release the Jeffrey Epstein files
New polling shows bipartisan support for more information on the Epstein case as White House attempts to handwave the issue.
President Trump has continued to publicly distance himself from key members of his MAGA base amid ongoing divisions within the political movement over the release of files related to known pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. In a post on Truth Social on Wednednesday, the president attacked memebrs of his party who have continued to call for greater transprency, accusing them for falling for the Democrat’s “scam.”
“[The Democrat’s] new scam is what we will forever all the Jeffery Epstein Hoz, and my PAST supports have bought into this “bullshit” hook, line, and sinker," wrote the president on his social media platform.

A recent poll from YouGov found that 79 percent of Americans surveyed believe “the government should release all documents it has about the Jeffrey Epstein case.” Additionally, 82 percent think the government is covering up information related to the Epstein case. The polling suggests a bipartisan consensus over the handling of the case by administrations of both political stripes. With Epstein being acquainted with political and business leaders—including President Trump and former President Bill Clinton—the lack of publicly available information about the involvement of those individuals, and the extent to which they knew or participated in his crimes, has understandably generated significant political interest.
The handwaving by the Trump administration, including attacks from the president on members of his own party who continue to call for greater transparency, may not be enough to put the issue to rest. Earlier this week, the president said that Attorney General Pam Bondi should release any reports she deems “credible,” but later launched more attacks on the files themselves, claiming they were created by his political enemies. The line of attack is strange and seemingly implicates him or those close to him in Epstein’s crimes.
