British vodka brand, Au Vodka, has set a new Guinness World Record with the largest bottle of vodka ever produced. The colossal golden bottle stands at an astonishing 6.9 feet (2.1 metres) tall and holds a staggering 66 gallons (250 litres) of vodka.

This record-breaking bottle is currently on display at World Duty Free in London’s Stansted Airport until 24 June, meaning the window for seeing it is very small. However, the company is looking to break into the US market using the massive bottle, alongside its marketing effort of attracting big stars to the brand.

Later this year it will be displayed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, due to Atlanta being the hub of Au in the US. It is already for sale in eight states and another marketing gimmick looks set to get eyes on the company.

Au Vodka is offering one lucky individual the chance to own this massive bottle. It is currently up for sale with a starting bid of $191,000.

“Our goal was to bring something different to the drinks market, a piece that goes beyond traditional advertising,” says Managing Director Charlie Morgan. “The World’s Biggest Bottle of Vodka at Stansted isn’t just a display; it’s a statement of our brand’s scale and our ambition to stand out in the global vodka market.”

The US vodka market could be a great investment opportunity

The vodka market in the United States is substantial and continues to grow steadily. According to Statista, the vodka market in the US is projected to reach a volume of $13.9 billion by 2029, with a growth rate of 1.25% between 2024 and 2029. The US accounts for nearly 87% of the North American vodka market size, registering a compound annual growth rate of 0.5% during 2017-2022.

GlobalData’s analysis reveals that unflavoured vodka accounted for a notable 78% share among various vodka segments in the US market in 2022, followed by flavoured vodka. Major players like Diageo, Fifth Generation, and Heaven Hill Brands held significant market shares, with brands like Tito’s, Smirnoff, and New Amsterdam leading in terms of brand market share. Au hopes it can break up these big brands.
