Royal Jordanian flight RJ263 has had to make an emergency diversion to the UK after encountering trouble in the air.
When a flight transmits code 7700, it means that there is an emergency onboard the aircraft. This code is used to indicate a serious issue that requires immediate assistance from air traffic control (ATC).
Squawk 7700 can be used for any emergencies, including but not limited to:
