Rudy Giuliani car crash latest: Former NYC mayor struck from behind
The 81-year-old’s vehicle was involved in a collision on a highway on Saturday evening, leaving Giuliani with a fractured vertebrae.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is recovering in hospital after a car crash in New Hampshire left him with a fractured vertebrae and other injuries.
The 81-year-old’s vehicle was struck from behind while driving down a highway on Saturday. Giuliani was taken to a nearby medical center to be treated for the injuries.
“He sustained injuries but is in good spirits and recovering tremendously,” Michael Ragusa, Giuliani’s head of security, said in a statement released on Sunday. “This was not a targeted attack.”
Ragusa added that Giuliani had been treated for injuries that included “a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg.”

The former Republican presidential candidate has had a colorful life in U.S. politics, rising to prominence for his response to the September 11 attacks in 2001. As New York City mayor, Giuliani was a popular and visible face of the heroic response effort and he was given the nickname ‘America’s mayor’ in the aftermath.
More recently, Giuliani became an avid supporter of President Donald Trump’s baseless claims that he won the 2020 presidential election, He was Trump’s personal attorney for a time and helped him launch dozens of lawsuits falsely claiming electoral fraud.
