In a series of bizarre tweets, the boxer seemed to claim he was a prophet from God after ‘predicting’ the tanker crash.

The Baltimore bridge disaster has had the internet awash with conspiracy theories. One of the most surprising may come from a boxing celebrity, Ryan Garcia.

In the days leading up to the tragedy, in which nearly a dozen people are confirmed to have been killed, Garcia seemingly tweeted that “Something bad is going to happen in Baltimore, Maryland on 26 March 2024.” Lo and behold, the Dali careered into the Francis Scott Key bridge, destroying it.

However, users in the community notes have said that the image was altered and that Garcia never made the claim. However, in reply to one user he said only God could “determine” if he was the chosen one. Whether he made the tweet or not, maybe Garcia thinks he did actually predict the crash.

Who is Ryan Garcia?

The American fighter, born in 1998, began his journey in the ring at age 7, managing to rack up an impressive 15 national championships as an amateur.

Turning professional in 2016, Garcia hasn’t disappointed. He’s known for his exciting fighting style and has earned a significant knockout percentage in his matches, knocking out his opponent in 80% of his 25 fights. Even after his first professional loss in April 2023, Garcia remains a top contender in the lightweight division, currently ranked highly by respected boxing publications.

His next fight is in the junior welterweight class against Devin Haney.
