Scientist claims to have located MH370: Where is the Malaysian Airlines flight that disappeared in 2014?

An Australian scientist claims to have determined the location of the Malaysian Airlines flight that disappeared in 2014 after taking off from Kuala Lumpur.

Ten years ago, Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 bound for Beijing took off from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia and mysteriously disappeared from radar.

The plane was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board, and as all 239 have been presumed dead, the incident involving MH370 has gone down in history as the deadliest case of aircraft disappearance.

The whereabouts of the plane have not been determined despite a multi-national effort in Southeast Asia and the southern Indian Ocean to find it. The search operation became the most costly in aviation history.

There have been numerous theories regarding the fate of the plane, with documentaries made to thresh out each one. However, none of them have been proven definitively. An Australian expert now claims he has figured out the whereabouts of flight MH370.

In a post on LinkedIn, Vincent Lyne of the University of Tasmania’s Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies shared where he believed the plane is located. Entitled “Mystery of MH370 Solved by Science,” his article spoke of a track that was discarded as “irrelevant” by the FBI and other organizations.

According to his calculations, MH370 lies “where the longitude of Penang airport intersects with a flight path from the Pilot-in-Command’s home simulator.

Scientist urges resumption of search for MH370

Lyne claims the plane can be found in a trench that’s almost 20,000 feet deep at the eastern end of the Broken Ridge in the Southern Indian Ocean.

“That location needs to be verified as a high priority. Whether it will be searched or not is up to officials and search companies, but as far as science is concerned, we know why the previous searches failed and likewise science unmistakably points to where MH370 lies,” he said in his post.

“In short, the MH370 mystery has been comprehensively solved in science!”

The research scientist claims that damage to parts of the plane would indicate that it was subjected to “controlled ditching by the pilot”, and did not run out of fuel.
