Shooting at the birthday party of Froilán, nephew of the King of Spain, five injured

Felipe VI’s nephew was celebrating his 24th birthday party in a Malaga nightclub with his friends when shots were fired, as well as other weapons used.

Froilán, nephew of the King of Spain, Philip VI, and the grandson of the King Emeritus, Juan Carlos I, was celebrating this weekend for his 24th birthday. The member of the Spanish royalty invited his friends to Opium, a highly popular nightclub on the Malaga coast frequented both by Spaniards and foreign tourists.

However, what should have been an entertaining night out ended up in tragedy. The emergency services received a call around 1:00 a.m. in the morning, in which a witness stated there had been a shooting at the nightclub which had had left several injured. The security forces rushed to the scene. Froilán was unharmed.

Post on Twitter: “A group of drug dealers were involved in a fight last night that ended in a shooting that left five injured at Opium Marbella, other weapons were also used in the battle.”

According to police sources, shooting was a settling of scores between drug dealers that are staying near the Malaga coast, and is not the first such incidence.

Five injured in Malaga shooting

According to EFE, a total of five were injured in the incident, the most serious having suffered injuries to the head and thorax. The others were are admitted to hospital with gunshot wounds, two of them requiring intensive care. Froílan, along with his guests were uninjured.
