SNAP benefits in California: Exact payment amounts and dates in March 2026 for the CalFresh program
The CalFresh program is preparing to issue a new round of SNAP payments for March. Here are the dates and amounts.
There are various forms of economic aid in the United States, among them the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, popularly known as SNAP. Each month, SNAP provides financial assistance to low-income families to help them purchase eligible food.
The program is financed through the Department of Agriculture (USDA), but the distribution of funds is administered at the state level. In the case of California, SNAP payments are handled by the Department of Social Services (CDSS) through CalFresh Program.
The funds allotted to each beneficiary are issued to an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which works like a debit card and can be used at approved grocery stores and retailers.

SNAP benefits in California are paid between the first and tenth calendar day of the month. The exact date depends on the last digit of the individual’s county case number.
For example, if the last digit is a ‘1’, the payments will go out on the first of the month. If it is a ‘2’ then they will go out on the second of the month, and so on.
