Update:

There are various forms of economic aid in the United States, among them the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, popularly known as SNAP. Each month, SNAP provides financial assistance to low-income families to help them purchase eligible food.

The program, formerly known as Food Stamps, is financed through the Department of Agriculture (USDA), but the distribution of funds is administered at the state level. In the case of Florida, SNAP payments are handled by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

The funds allotted to each beneficiary are issued to an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which works like a debit card and can be used at approved grocery stores and retailers.

When to expect March 2026 SNAP benefits in Florida

Florida SNAP benefits are sent between the 1st and 28th of each month, based on the 9th and 8th digits of your Florida case number.

The formula Florida uses for distributing SNAP benefits takes the ninth digit followed by the eighth digit of a person’s case number to create a two-digit number, which corresponds to the day someone receives its benefits. If a recipient’s ninth digit is 0 and their eighth digit is 1, then the number in this formula would be 01, corresponding to the 1st day of the month.

  • 00-03: 1st day of each month
  • 04-06: 2nd day of each month
  • 07-10: 3rd day of each month

You can find your case number on your benefits approval letter, which is sent by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) when one benefit claim has been approved.

Payments are deposited once a day, before 6:00 a.m., so on the day your payment is sent, your money will be available early.
