Social Security: Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment schedule for 2024
Supplemental Security Income payments will increase next year based on the cost of living adjustment. Here are the dates for receiving SSI benefits in 2024.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has released the cost of living adjustment (COLA) for 2024, which is calculated based on inflation so as not to affect the purchasing power of beneficiaries.
The COLA for next year will be 3.2%. This percentage will apply to the millions of payments the SSA sends each month, including retired worker benefits, survivors, and disability payments.
The latter include Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and payments from the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program.

Supplemental Security Income: What is it and how much money will be sent in 2024?
The Supplemental Security Income program provides monthly payments to adults and children with disabilities or blindness who meet certain income and resource requirements.
SSI payments are also provided to people aged 65 or older without disabilities who meet the financial requirements established by the SSA.
According to the SSA announcement, maximum SSI payments will increase from $914 to $943 per month for individuals. Couples will be able to receive up to $1,415 each month next year.

Supplemental Security Income: SSI Payment Schedule for 2024
According to the SSA schedule, Supplemental Security Income payments are sent out on the first day of each month.
However, if the first day of the month falls on a Saturday or Sunday, payment is advanced to the last Friday of the previous month. If the first day falls on a holiday, payment is sent on the first business day prior.

The January 2024 SSI payment is sent on December 29, 2023, since the first day of 2024 is a holiday.

SSI payments are sent via direct deposit to beneficiaries who have provided a bank account to SSA or via mail, which take longer to arrive.
According to the SSA, if you do not receive your payment on the expected date, you must wait three days for additional shipping before contacting Social Security.
