It’s St. Patrick’s Day and it’s the perfect time to celebrate, with popular restaurants offering green treats and special deals on food and drinks.
St. Patrick may be the patron saint of Ireland, but Americans have learned to celebrate his feast day in their own special way- from dyeing the Chicago river green to drinking green beer.
Those who wish to join the feasting can take advantage of emerald-colored offerings in restaurants, special deals, and even freebies that are available on St. Patrick’s Day.
Free doughnuts
If you’re a doughnut lover, wear green and head over to Krispy Kreme and you will get a free original glazed doughnut. You don’t even have to buy anything to receive it! Just go in the store or drive through in your green attire for your freebie.
If you want to get more into the spirit of the day and don’t mind spending a little, they have some themed offerings such as the Shooting Shamrock Doughnut and the Luck of the Rainbow Doughnut with colorful sprinkles , which will be available for a limited time.
McDonald’s classic green shakes
For fans of the Shamrock Shake, McDonald’s has brought the concoction of vanilla ice cream, mint syrup, and whipped cream back for the festivities this year. If that’s not enough sugar for you, you could have another cold dessert- the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry.
Yogurt and charms
Yogurtland is also going green, with the return of their Lucky Irish Mint flavor and Mint Cookies and Cream Swirl for St. Patrick’s Day. The shop will also be giving away some special Yogurtland Charms which you can get on March 17. You can receive a free pack of three charms with a $15 purchase in their stores and show them their Instagram post about the charms.
Green cookie monsters
Cookie Monster may be blue, but if you want free cookies on St. Patrick’s Day, wearing green is what will do the trick. Insomnia Cookies is offering a free classic cookie for any in-store purchase for green-clad customers.
