Starbucks has competition: Another fast food restaurant is including a pumpkin spice drink on its menu in August

The end of August heralds the start of Pumpkin Spice Season. Hot on the heels of Starbucks’ announcement about when its famous Pumpkin Spice Latte will be available on this year’s menu, Krispy Kreme will be launching their own Pumpkin Spice Season menu, and with a headstart on their competitors.

Limited edition doughnuts are back

The doughnut chain confirmed the return of its iconic Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut for one week only beginning August 11. The limited edition snack was launched last year and available for just three days, but it was so successful that the company will extend its run this year until August 17. Doughnuts will be available individually and by the dozen in‑shop and for pickup or delivery via Krispy Kreme’s app and website.

Other products on the menu include: Original Glazed Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut, Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Spice Coffee. The Pumpkin spice coffee drinks are available hot, iced or frozen and will be available throughout the fall.

As will the Pumpkin Spice Cake doughnuts, also available in 6-pack boxes delivered fresh every day to select retailers.

“Pumpkin spice fans are counting down the days to their favorite season and we’re happy to kick it off by bringing back our Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed doughnut – earlier and for a longer period. But it won’t be around long. Let Pumpkin Spice Season begin!” Alison Holder, Krispy Kreme Chief Brand and Product Officer, said in a company statement.
