Taco Bell brings back a cheaper Double Decker Taco: Price, and when it will be available
Taco Bell has brought back the popular Double Decker Taco to its menu, but fans need to act fast to get it since it will only be around for a limited time.
Taco Bell first introduced the Double Decker Taco in the mid-1990s, and it became a fan favorite that was mourned when it was pulled out of the menu in 2019.
Taco Bell regulars clamored for its return, and were granted their wish when the item came back last year for a limited time. However, that period was simply not enough for the Double Decker’s supporters, and customers took to social media to once more demand that it be reinstated.
Fans will be happy know that Taco Bell has given in to public pressure, and the Double Decker Taco is back on the Tex-Mex chain’s menu effective Oct. 10. However, they won’t have long to enjoy the double-layered treat. It will only be around at participating locations until Oct. 30, 2024.

What’s in a Double Decker Taco?
For those who don’t know what this menu item is, it’s made of a hard taco shell filled with seasoned beef, crisp lettuce, and shredded cheddar cheese, that is then embraced by a soft flour tortilla filled with warm refried beans.
The item’s upgraded version, the Double Decker Taco Supreme, is made with the same elements, with additional diced tomatoes and reduced-fat sour cream.
Aside from being able to once again enjoy these treats, diners will be happy to know that the tacos even come at a lower price this time around. When these two items returned to the menu last year, the Double Decker Taco had a price tag of $2.99, and the Supreme version cost $3.69.
Taco Bell is now offering them at only $2 and $2.69, respectively.
