Inflation has gone down from record highs two years ago, but many Americans continue to struggle to cope with high prices, as the increase in prices continues to hover above an annual 3% rate.

To help consumers deal with this particular headache and also to encourage them to part with their hard-earned money, some establishments have announced that they will be pulling their prices down to help their customers keep up with inflation. German grocery store Aldi and McDonald’s have already announced they were reducing prices of select offerings.

Target has joined the bandwagon and is trying to attract inflation-fatigued clients by announcing the store is cutting the prices of thousands of their products, including those of basic and frequently bought necessities such as milk, bread, vegetables, and diapers.

The company says the new lower prices will take effect over the summer.

The popular retailer said it had already slashed prices on some 1,500 products including frozen chicken breast, frozen pizza, bleach, and shredded cheese. The store will eventually decrease the cost of a total of around 5,000 food and drink items and essential household goods.

The store will also be bringing down the prices of the following items, among others.

  • Bread
  • Butter
  • Coffee
  • Diapers
  • Fresh fruit
  • Milk
  • Meat
  • Paper towels
  • Peanut butter
  • Pet food
  • Snacks
  • Soda
  • Sunscreen
  • Vegetables
  • Yogurt

The grocery chain says customers can find the new lower prices online, on the store’s app, and in their physical stores.

The retailer said that the price cuts will be implemented on top of the discounts it is planning to give its customers in stores across the country as part of their celebration of Memorial Day.
