Target: Where will new store locations be opening?

The Minneapolis-based retailer has plans to open over two dozen stores across the United States. Here’s a look at where Target store will be opening soon.

Just about anywhere you go in the United States, you won’t be far from a Target store. With nearly two thousand locations nationwide, the company says that most American doorsteps are within 10 miles of one.

While the Minneapolis-based big box retailer closed some locations in 2023, four in May due to low foot traffic and nine more last month “because theft and organized retail crime,” the store had announced plans for about 20 new locations this year as part of a multi-billion-dollar investment.

But Target isn’t stopping there with still more upcoming store openings listed. In total there are 27 new stores slated to be opened in the coming months from coast to coast. The locations will range in size from around 28,000 sq ft to over 148,000 sq ft.

The big box retailer announced last year that it would be focusing on new larger format that’s been reimagined to better serve and inspire its customers. Six of the upcoming store openings will be 148,000 sq ft or bigger, nine others will be over 100,000 sq ft.
