Much like a belated Christmas, tax season is nearly upon us. Deck your halls, put on the festive tunes and make sure everything is declared lest Santa, known in some places as the ‘IRS’, come knocking for those on his naughty list.

In all seriousness, accurate filing of taxes is crucial for pretty much everyone. There is a strict window in which to file in that is extended only in cases of emergency such as people still battered by the hurricane season. Don’t expect much of a helping hand if you are late.

With the scaremongering out of the way we have for you a full list of the important tax dates for Americans this year. Predictably, April is still the month when the most tax action is happening. The crucial date, 18 April, has been marked in italics. Certainly one to put on the calendar.
