Taylor Swift reveals track list for her new album ‘Midnights’ including song with Lana del Rey
Taylor Swift has released details on her new album, including the song list and collaboration with Lana del Rey. Here are the details.
Taylor Swift’s tenth studio album, ‘Midnights’ will be released on October 21, 2022. Like other of Swift’s more recent albums, no singles have been released in the lead-up to the debut.
In anticipation of the release, Swift has made the track list public:
The deluxe version of the album will also include three bonus tracks that were not included in the list.
Fans were excited to see that one of the tracks, “Snow On The Beach,” will feature singer Lana Del Rey.
How has Swift described the album?
There is lots of speculation surrounding the album as many of the artist’s past works have been reflective of different parts of her life, including romantic relationships.
In describing the upcoming work, Swift said that the songs are a “collection of music written in the middle of the night.”
“For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided token the lanterns lit and go searching - hope that just maybe when the clock strikes twelve… we’ll meet ourselves,” reads the post describing the upcoming album.
Time is clearly a major part of the upcoming album, with Swift noting that there will be four covers available and that when put together, the backs make a clock.
Track 3: Anti-Hero
In the lead up to the release, Taylor has told her fans a bit about track three titled, “Anti-Hero.”
For Swift, the song is a “guided tour through the things that I hate about myself” and represents one of the most inward-looking songs the artist known for her honesty has written.
In an Instagram video, the singer said that it was “one of her favorite songs she has written,” and she doesn’t think she has ever “delved this far into [her] insecurities in this detail before.”
“It’s all of those aspects that we dislike about ourselves that we have to come to terms with if we are going to be this person,” said the artist as she gestured to her own body.
For fans, this could mean that ‘Midnights’ will be a work of art meant to assist those listening in reflecting on their own insecurities and help, as Swift says, “come to terms” with the parts of us that we may “tend to hate.”
