Tuesday 11 October will be the last day eligible Texas citizens can register to vote in the 2022 Midterm Elections. The same goes for anyone that needs to correct or update information on their registration. Unlike 21 other states, the Lone Star State doesn’t allow same-day voter registration.

Texans will be voting on whether to give Governor Greg Abbott another four years in office or choose from one of the five other contenders, with Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke trailing the incumbent by around 7 points. Also on the ballot will be all Texas’ 38 US House of Representatives as well as the state legislators, 22 state executive offices and more.

For specific questions about your voter registration you should contact your county voter registrar. If you recently had a name change you can update your information online. Those who encounter problems trying to vote or have concerns can call or text the nonpartisan Texas Voter Protection hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683).
