According to the U.S. First Exchange website, the value of a coin is based on three main factors: rarity, the condition of the coin or bill, and demand for it.
If a coin is rare, meaning it has some details that most coins don’t, it will be worth more money. If a coin is both rare and in good condition, its value will increase. On top of these qualities, if there are only a few specimens left in circulation, a coin will be worth much more.

This $1 coin can be worth up to $132,000: Features
At the end of World War I, the United States Mint issued a series of “Peace” coins that fetch very high prices today. This is the case of a 1921 coin that can be worth up to $132,000.
The coin features a crowned Lady Liberty on the front and an American eagle overlooking a sunrise on the reverse. A “high relief” 1921 ‘Peace’ silver dollar, graded MS67, set an auction record for this coin series of $132,000 in 2018, according to Stack’s Bowers.

According to the Professional Coin Grading Service, other examples of the 1921 Peace dollar, graded MS67, have sold for $111,000, $96,601, $70,500 and $24,150.
