Removing food debris in the microwave

Put half a lemon in a bowl of water and let the water boil for a minute. The steam from the lemon will soften the hardened food stuck on surfaces and cut through grease. The debris will wipe off easily with a cloth. For tougher stains, just repeat the process.

Clean and revive your chopping board

The chopping board is a workhorse in many kitchens, and they often look the worse for wear,  especially wooden ones. To revive your board, sprinkle some coarse salt all over its surface while it’s dry, then take half of a lemon, squeeze half of the juice over the surface, then use the same half to scrub the board thoroughly in a circular motion.

If those pesky underarm stains are not going away, especial on white shirts, prepare a 50-50 solution of water and lemon juice. Apply to the stain and let it soak for 30 minutes before throwing it into the washing machine.

Before running your dishwasher, squeeze the juice of half a lemon into it. Just make sure you remove the seeds first as this can get stuck in your machine. Leave the seedless lemon half in the dishwasher before you switch it on.

Prepare a solution of one cup water with four tablespoons of lemon juice. Put it in a spray bottle and shake. Spray your mirror or glass surface with it then wipe down with a microfiber cloth. This will leave a shine with no streaks.
