Apple customers are very loyal to the brand, and iPhone users are particularly famous for their loyalty. Studies have shown that majority of them are satisfied with their devices, and that they have no plans of switching brands.

This loyalty could translate to some resistance to change, especially if it involves a feature that they have used, model after iPhone model.

Apple will be tweaking the phone’s software and this tiny change could challenge the user’s muscle memory.

The company will be updating iOS 17, and the update will be moving the big red “end call” button from its customary place at the bottom middle of the phone app, to the bottom right of the screen. The button for FaceTime will now be where the hang up button used to be.

New iOS 17 features

Moving the “end call” button might jar some users, but there will be other changes that users might be happy to see, including Live Voicemail which will transcribe a voicemail in real time so you can decide if you want to answer the call or not. You will be able make this decision while the caller is still on the line.

The messaging function will also be getting the ability to swipe to reply, and will be getting search filters which will help you to find certain messages more quickly. Audio messages will also be transcribed so that you can read them as soon as possible instead of having to scramble for headphones or look for a quiet place to listen to them.

FaceTime iOS 17 updates will allow callers to leave audio or video messages when no one is available to take their call.

Apple is expected to launch these operating system updates next month, after their yearly iPhone event.
