Uber is the brand most associated with ride-sharing, and according to Uber’s annual report, their drivers completed a total of 6.4 billion trips worldwide in 2022. Uber operates in 72 countries through 4.4 million drivers. With such a huge volume of business, it is unavoidable that there are many lost items left behind by customers in their vehicles.

Uber Technologies has compiled a list of the most frequently forgotten objects in cars. The data comes from vehicles operating in the United States, with Jacksonville (Florida), San Antonio (Texas) and Palm Springs (California) being the most ‘forgetful’ cities. The most commonly lost objects are the following:

According to the report, there was a “significant increase” in the loss of Disney and Harry Potter items last year, “especially Minnie ears, lightsabers, Disney magic bands and, of course, magic wands!” A total of 70 Nintendo Switch consoles were also left behind.

The report adds that there are popular objects that are lost depending on the day of the week.

  3. People are more likely to forget their bags on Wednesdays.
  4. People are more likely to forget cash on Thursdays.
  5. People are more likely to forget watches and jewelry on Fridays.
