The date of Kate Middleton’s “soft return” at Easter
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton was expected to return to her royal duties after Easter. Is this still the timeline being offered by the Royal Family?
After images of Kate Middleton were released over the weekend, questions of her condition and whereabouts have been slightly quelled online. The Prince and Princess of Wales were seen leaving a farm shop about a mile from her home in Windsor. However, the Royal Family has still not given a clear answer on what has kept her from the public and when she can be expected to return to her responsibilities.
The origins of the mystery
In January, Kensington Palace released a statement that the Princess of Wales would be undergoing abdominal surgery and that she would be out of the limelight until after Easter, which this year will take place on Sunday, 31 March. “Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness progress when there is significant news information to share,” reads the statement. The Palace may have followed their word too closely, in the end, receiving backlash for the secrecy surrounding the presumed recovery of Middleton.
On 29 January, the Palace of the Princess was released from the hospital, and the report on her condition showed that she was recovering well.
After that... Silence from Kensington Palace, prompting global scrutiny on the monarchy, particularly in light of the announcement that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer and would be undergoing treatment.
When will the Princess of Wales be returning to public life?
There has been no confirmation on the status of the Princess of Wales’ plans to return to her royal responsibilities. Various outlets, including The Telegraph, have speculated that she could make an appearance on Easter Sunday. The Daily Beast has heard through the grapevine that the Princess is planning a “big bang” to mark her introduction back into public life. However, the continued silence only raises more questions than it awnsers, allowing the rumor mill to continue churning out new theories.
