What is the difference between the Old Farmer’s Almanac and the Farmer’s Almanac?

Though very similar in name, the two publications have several differences.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac was established in 1792, while the Farmers’ Almanac was founded later in 1818. Both publications offer weather predictions, tips on agriculture, and astronomical data, but possess their own editorial approach and design.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac says it makes use of a secret formula for forecasting weather, which includes solar activity, tidal forces, and meteorological patterns. It incorporates modern scientific methods and the expertise of meteorologists in its predictions.

The Farmers’ Almanac also uses its own formula, which includes mathematical and astronomical factors like sunspot activity and lunar cycles.

Both feature gardening tips, astronomy, and celestial events, although the Farmers’ Almanac gives a little more emphasis on practical matters by offering content on household tips, recipes, and natural remedies.
