The price of a house in Pacific Palisades, the luxury development devastated by the Los Angeles fire
The Palisades fire has wrecked one of the wealthiest neighborhoods globally, where celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler, and Tom Hanks reside.
Since January 7, Southern California, Los Angeles County in particular, has been ravaged by a destructive and dangerous wildfire that has some of the world’s most luxurious and exclusive residential areas. This is one of the most catastrophic natural disasters in recent times, beginning on January 7 and not yet being brought under control.
The fire was sparked by a combination of dry conditions and the famous Santa Ana winds that reached up to 100 miles per hour (mph). This caused the fires to spread in record time and reach world-famous areas. Los Angeles County has suffered the most damage, particularly in the Pacific Palisades community, which primarily consists of a luxury celebrity development and is one of the most affected areas.

Pacific Palisades is one of the world’s most luxurious and exclusive residential areas. Located northwest of Los Angeles, close to world-renowned places such as Santa Monica and Malibu, its residents include stars such as Ben Affleck, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hanks, Adam Sandler and James Wood.
Nestled in the stunning Malibu Mountains, the neighborhood showcases an array of magnificent mansions. Unfortunately, it’s also been ravaged by a fierce fire fueled by dense vegetation. This devastating blaze has obliterated several homes, displacing hundreds and affecting even high-profile residents like Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag. Actor Miles Teller faced evacuation, while beloved A-list stars such as Tom Hanks and Ben Affleck have also felt the impact.
Million-dollar mansions and the Getty Villa
According to the BBC, the average price of a home in Pacific Palisades is around $4.5 million. For example, Ben Affleck paid more than $20 million for his 600-square-metre mansion, while Tom Hanks bought a property in the neighbourhood for around $26 million.
Also in Pacific Palisades is the Getty Villa, a Roman-inspired villa built by Jean Paul Getty that serves as a center dedicated to the arts and cultures of Ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria. The fire has not yet reached the Getty Villa, but it threatens to do so if the blaze is not brought under control.
