The reasons why Post Malone has canceled his tour: what about the pending dates?

Injuries incurred from an on-stage accident during a show in St Louis appear to be more serious than thought as Post Malone cancels show in Boston.

Post Malone cancels Boston show due to “stabbing pain”

Post Malone canceled his concert at the TD Garden in Boston at the last minute due to “stabbing pain” when he breathes or moves. The week before the singer-songwriter suffered an accident that bruised his ribs.

While he said “everything’s good” after going to hospital and kept two follow-up performances, he went to hospital again after waking up “to a cracking sounds” on the right side of his body Saturday.

Fall through open trap door leaves Post Malone with bruised ribs

Last week the rapper fell through an open stage trap door while performing at the Enterprise Center in downtown St Louis. The accident left him visibly in pain causing the show to be paused briefly while medical personnel attended to the artist. Post Malone went on to finish the concert with a few more numbers in an abbreviated wrap-up before getting his injuries checked at hospital.

There the rapper was diagnosed with bruised ribs but in a social media post said, “Everything’s good, they gave me some pain meds and everything. We can keep kicking ass on the tour.”

Boston show to be rescheduled

Malone kicked off the two-month-long American portion of his Twelve Carat Tour in Omaha on 10 September. After his accident in St Louis he kept two follow-up performances of the 33-date tour in support of fourth studio album, “Twelve Carat Toothache” in Columbus and then Toronto.

But the injuries suffered from the on-stage accident were more serious than previously thought. The rapper posted a message on his social media platforms that his pains had taken a turn for the worse forcing the cancelation of Saturday night’s performance at the TD Garden in Boston.

“Boston, I love y’all so fucking much. On tour, I usually wake up around 4 o’clock pm, and today I woke up to cracking sounds on the right side of my body,” Malone wrote. “I felt so good last night, but today it feels so different than it has before. I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move. We’re in the hospital now, but with this pain, I can’t do the show tonight.”

No word on rest of Twelve Carat Tour

The artist and venue are working on rescheduling the performance in Boston and advised that “fans should retain their tickets to be used for a new date once it is announced.”

As for the rest of the tour, no word has been offered on whether future dates are expected to go on as scheduled. The next performance is scheduled for Tuesday 27 September in Cleveland at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
