The strange reason why Buckingham Palace waited until 9 p.m. to reveal hospitalization of King Charles
Concerns were raised for the 76-year-old monarch, who was admitted to hospital on Thursday. He has been undergoing cancer treatment for the past year.

Drama unfolded at Buckingham Palace last week when King Charles was unexpectedly whisked to hospital for “a short period of observation”.
The King has been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer since February 2024. The cancer was detected during a routine checkup. It was also discovered that he had an enlarged prostate. For the most part, Charles’ illness has not stopped him from performing his royal duties - at least until now.
The King had to cancel two engagements - a visit from ambassadors on Thursday, and four public engagements in Birmingham, the following day.
Last night, The Queen, joined by The King and The Duchess of Gloucester, hosted authors and members of the literary community to celebrate the launch of The Queen’s Reading Room Medal, designed to recognise those championing books and storytelling in their local communities. 📚

Palace issues statement on King Charles’ cancer treatment
A Buckingham Palace statement read: “Following scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer this morning, The King experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital. His Majesty’s afternoon engagements were therefore postponed. His Majesty has now returned to Clarence House and as a precautionary measure, acting on medical advice, tomorrow’s diary programme will also be rescheduled. His Majesty would like to send his apologies to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result.”
A Palace spokesperson added: “His Majesty was due to receive Credentials from the Ambassadors of three different nations this afternoon. Tomorrow, he was due to undertake four public engagements in Birmingham and is greatly disappointed to be missing them on this occasion”.
Charles spent the weekend resting at his Highgrove estate in Gloucester but will resume his activities this week. This week’s state visit to Italy will go ahead as planned, although King Charles and Queen Camilla will not meet Pope Francis, who is dealing with health issues of his own.
