The United States adds a new country to the visa-free entry list: Full list updated
Here’s the complete and updated list of countries whose citizens do not need a visa to enter the United States.
Recently, United States Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas, in consultation with Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, designated Qatar for the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which allows visa-free entry into the United States.
“The Visa Waiver Program is one of our most successful security initiatives. Qatar’s participation in the program increases information sharing regarding one of the world’s busiest travel and transfer hubs, strengthening the security of the United States. I commend our Qatari partners for meeting the stringent requirements in this agreement entails and look forward to our continued work together on behalf of our respective countries,” said Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas.
“Qatar’s fulfillment of the stringent security requirements to join the Visa Waiver Program will deepen our strategic partnership and enhance the flow of people and commerce between our two countries. Qatar’s entry will make travel between the United States and Qatar safer, more secure, and easier for both Americans and Qataris,” Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken added.

In addition to Qatar, Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries include: United Kingdom, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan.
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) cannot be used if the purpose of your travel is to study for credit, employment, work as a foreign print, radio, film or other media journalist, or to establish yourself as a permanent resident.
What is the Visa Waiver Program (VWP)?
Travellers seeking to enter the United States for business or tourism, including certain types of transit (B-1/B-2 visa), for less than 90 days may be eligible to travel to the United States without a visa under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) if they meet specific requirements.
The Visa Waiver Program creates comprehensive security partnerships between the United States and designated countries that meet strict requirements related to counterterrorism, law enforcement, immigration enforcement, document security, and border management.
These requirements include the country having a non-immigrant visa refusal rate below 3% during the previous fiscal year and issuing secure travel documents. Participating countries are evaluated at least every two years, as required by law, to ensure that they continue to meet all program requirements.
